Exceptional times – a virus takes over everyday life
19.11.2022 - 19.02.2023Exceptional times – a virus takes over everyday life
The Aachen City Museum Centre Charlemagne takes a first look at the past Corona years. Of course, this view cannot yet be historical-analytical, as we are still in the midst of the events, but it will take an emotional-memorative look at them from different perspectives through various visual impressions. The exhibition will also serve to increase the Municipal Collection with meaningful and history-rich objects on the pandemic period. Based on this assumption and the expectation that a show simply tailored to Aachen in documentary form would not yet find its audience, it made sense to approach the topic in different ways and with different target groups. Therefore, three different exhibitions will be set up in a close spatial context:
Other images – Aachen artists and their view of the pandemic.
Other Views – Aachen photographers document the Lockdown
Other Cities – Corona in Aachen’s Twin Cities
The three exhibitions are curated by different people and documented in independent catalogues.
